Dollywood Eagle Release

In April, Awohali hatched at Dollywood’s Eagle Mountain Sanctuary. In partnership with American Eagle Foundation, we are excited to announce that this beautiful eagle was released on July 29, 2019. 🦅

Grant and Glenda a non-releasable nesting pair of Bald Eagles located at Dollywood’s Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, successfully hatched and nurtured an eaglet in the spring of 2019. This little eaglet was named Awohali. Awohali is the Cherokee word for eagle – a nod to the heritage of the beautiful and majestic Smoky Mountains.
