Lightning Rod Closed for 2020, Upgrade in 2021 | What's Wrong with Dollywood's Star Attraction?

Lightning Rod closed late last month and hasn’t operated since. Yesterday, Dollywood added a sign in front of Lightning Rod stating the ride would remain closed for the rest of 2020 for an “upgrade” and teased “In 2021, Lightning strikes twice.” This video will break down why Lightning Rod is closed and what I think could happen to the ride for 2021.

Lightning Rod opened at Dollywood in 2016 as the world’s fastest wooden roller coaster and the only wood coaster in the world with a launch. This ride has been critically acclaimed, but it has seen major downtime in 4 of its first 5 years.
