The Thunderhead roller coaster is a classic wooden roller coaster located at Dollywood amusement park in Pigeon Forge TN. The coaster was built in 2004 by Great Coasters International or GCI. The trains uses Millenium Flyer trains and features a 100 ft drop. Elements such as steep banked turns, crossovers, bunny hills, give riders a thrilling experience as well as an overhead station flyby where riders are hurled through the boarding station at 40 mph above the loading train. Thunderhead has consistently been named in the top 10 wooden roller coasters by the Golden Ticket Awards and NAPHA.
