A Star Search vocalist and professional actress join the Poncan Jubilee

Natalie Martin, a former Star Search vocalist, and Christy Tate, a leading lady in a recent Lifetime movie, will be on the Poncan stage with the Poncan Jubilee. The Jubilee is on April 30 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids under 12. They can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, the Poncan Theatre, or online at Poncantheatre.orgtickets.

The show features spiritual, fifties, and country music. Dance, vocal, comedy, a ventriloquist, the Poncan Jubilee Band, and more will bring to you a fast moving and heart-felt variety show.

Natalie Tidwell Martin is a native Oklahoman, growing up in the town of Moore, Oklahoma. Natalie has been singing since she was 5 years old with performances taking her around the country. She was a Junior vocalist on Ed McMahon’s Star Search, a featured female vocalist at Country Tonite in Branson, MO and Pigeon Forge, TN. She was the featured entertainer in Biloxi, MS in a show called Honky Tonk Cowgirls.

Most recently, she lived in Nashville, TN for 12 years where she found much success as one of the most sought after demo singers for songwriters in Nashville. While in Nashville, she was the featured female vocalist in a show called The Elle Revue. Because of her success as a singer/ songwriter in Nashville, she was selected and won XM Radio’s Next American Superstar competition and had her original songs featured on XM Radio. She has sung the National Anthem at many events including OKC Thunder NBA games and several political rallies for Presidential candidate Marco Rubio.

Natalie is a graduate of the University of Tulsa and now resides in Claremore, OK with her husband Tim and their two beautiful children, Emma and Cole. She and her husband own Oklahoma Royal Homes and build custom homes all over northeastern Oklahoma.

Christy Tate is a SAG-E actress in the Midwest market. Her most recent Lifetime films will be released this coming fall. Next month she’s looking forward to her upcoming role on an episode of Mike Rowe’s The Way I Heard It. Her film, Posthuman, won the 2014 Dead-Center Film Festival’s Film of the Year. On the set of film Ratpocolypse, she got to work with The Godfather’s Gray Frederickson.

Christy is a graduate of Oral Roberts University where she earned a degree in Drama with a TV & Film emphasis. She also holds a degree in Musical Theatre from Northern Oklahoma College where she was named Outstanding Musical Theatre Student and earned the title Miss NOC 1999. Christy has directed and choreographed numerous musicals, while audiences saw her in such roles as Sandy in Grease, Sarah in Guys and Dolls, Eve in Savior, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, and many more. Light Opera Oklahoma audiences have seen her choreography in The Student Prince where she served as AD under John Everett. Christy’s performing past also includes awards from Dance Maters of America as well as piano performance awards from OMTA. Christy is a two-time Miss OK talent winner and was 2nd runnerup in Mrs. OK 2008 where she was awarded both swimsuit and director’s awards.

Christy also led the Musical Theatre department at Southwestern Christian University for several years. She also served as Ministry Coordinator for Youth For Christ – all before holding her “dream Job”: homeschooling her children Courtney and William, which she has done for over a decade. Christy served on the board for Youth For Christ for a decade where she and her husband were recipients of the 2005 Man & Woman of the Year award. For a decade she was ED for the Miss Mustang Scholarship Pageant, a local prelim to the Miss OK/ Miss America organization. Christy enjoys getting to know all types of people, is deeply grateful to the Lord for her precious family. She is passionate about education, apologetics, philosophy, art and literature.
