Camp Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge opens new family activities

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort and Lodge in Pigeon Forge will debut fun activities for the whole family this summer.

The resort has opened Fin City, a 20,000-square-foot entertainment space with a family game room and an arcade with games like Halo and Space Invaders.

Later this summer, the resort will open a 120-foot-long lazy river and an activity lawn with a fire pit and games like giant Jenga.

“The RV campers generally stay longer in length of stay than a hotel, so that’s very important for them to have multiple things to do,” general manager Andy Hime told Knox News. “As we increase our activities, (we want to) entertain the kids and the adults as well.”

Once the lazy river opens, the vision for Camp Margaritaville will be complete after taking over the property, once home to Boyd’s Bear Country, about two years ago.

“There’s always possibilities of more things to come,” Hime said.

The resort has opened in phases. The 158-spot RV park was completed in June 2021, and the Boyd’s Bears building was transformed into a 79-room lodge that opened in February.
