Doris “DeeDee” H. Shifflett, 83, of Earlysville, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
DeeDee was born on December 26, 1938, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Edward and Lola Hall. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend. She made family birthdays and holiday celebrations very special. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners, traveling and watching her sons play baseball and later on in life watched her grandchildren play. She loved watching old Western movies. She was always excited about vacationing at the cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. every year. In addition to her parents, DeeDee was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie M. Shifflett; a son, Bennie M. Shifflett Jr.;her daughter, Sheila A. Shifflett; a brother, Robert Hall; and two sisters, Shirley Ripley and Nancy Gibson.

DeeDee is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marshall and husband, Donnie; her sons, Cliff Shifflett and his wife, Lisa, Barry Shifflett and his wife, Tammy, and Craig Shifflett and his wife, Tessa; a brother, Donnie Hall and his wife, Virginia; her sister, Martha Goolsby; her grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha Marshall, Kristen (Greg), Joshua,Hannah, Blake, Katelyn (Tyler)Lauren, Alycia (Justin) and Heather Shifflett; one great-grandson, Jackson Kuper, and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Deborah Campbell for all her care throughout the years. Valeria Niehaus and Mark Malyn with UVA Continuum Home Health as well as Robin, Lanika (Stella), Margaret, Alissa, Darlene, Kay and Susan for their loving, gentle and caring support they provided during this time.
The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 11 a.m. at Teague Funeral Services in Charlottesville, Va. Burial will be held at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Earlysville, Va. Officiated by Pastor David Morris.
