Hazel LaRue Blizzard, 86, of McSherrystown, PA, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. Born December 21, 1934 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Loretta Groft Beaver and Melvin Smith. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert E. Blizzard. She enjoyed vacationing in Pigeon Forge, TN, decorating for Christmas with her husband, reading, search word puzzles and yard sales. She was an avid bowler in her younger years. She is survived by children Brenda Vincent and husband John of Stafford, VA; Becky Crumbacker and husband Ronnie of Westminster; Robert Blizzard and wife Doreen of Taneytown and Cathy Naill and husband Larry of Taneytown; sister Elsie Wallick of Westminster. Also survived by 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons Herbert, David and James Blizzard, daughter-in-law Sharon Blizzard, sister Joyce Turner, brother William Yingling and grandchildren James Blizzard, Jr., Jamie Graham and Ryan Blizzard. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Westminster Cemetery.
