That store, as well as a Krispy Kreme on the Parkway in Sevierville, have been closed for months, to the dismay of customers who frequented the locations.
County records show that Messick Doughnuts sold the Pigeon Forge location to Krispy Kreme for $2.2 million.
The franchises for both local Krispy Kreme locations were owned by Joey and Missy Messick.
The two of them said earlier this year that they were hoping to reopen the stores after addressing some issues.
They did not respond to messages seeking comment for this story.
Krispy Kreme also did not respond to requests for comment.
However, the company’s list of Krispy Kreme locations has been updated so that it now shows that the Pigeon Forge location is temporarily closed, and it does not list a Sevierville location.
