Police were called to the Pilot at 4035 Parkway Monday morning, and Chief Richard Catlett confirmed they found a body inside.

“We’re still working to determine what happened,” he said. “We don’t believe there is any foul play. An autopsy has been ordered, and they’re processing his car (Tuesday).”

By Monday evening, he said they had confirmed it was a Kentucky man but they weren’t ready to identify the person yet.

The car was parked at the edge of the lot, on the side near Cold Creek Resort the chief said.

It wasn’t clear Monday how long the car had been there.

“We do believe it had been there for a while,” he said.

By shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, police had left the scene.

Pigeon Forge Police Department did not release any additional details on the incident Monday.
