Head coach Justin Anderson will coach his first game at Northview Academy as the Cougars travel nearly 100 miles East to Unicoi County for a matchup against the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils took a 22-15 win in their week one matchup last season, but Coach Anderson has made an immediate impact on the culture within the football program and will look to start his tenure at the school 1-0.
Pigeon Forge will be at home to face off against Hampton High School for a game against the Bulldogs. Pigeon Forge fell short 21-14 on the road against the Bulldogs last season, but Head Coach Scott Meadows and the Tigers are ready to defend their home field and avenge their loss from last year.
“We’ve been getting ready for Hampton since last Monday,” Meadows said after the jamboree. “So we know what’s coming, we know what we have to do.”
For the Lions of The King’s Academy, their week one matchup will be the Warriors from the Christian Academy of Knoxville. After spending most of last season on the road, the Lions will have home field advantage for eight of 10 games this year.
While they may have come up short to CAK last year, they’re hopeful that home field advantage will be in their favor as they try to start the season 1-0.
