The Tigers, who improved to 20-2 and 8-1 in the district, added a couple of runs early in the first and third frames to take the victory.

Much of Pigeon Forge’s damage came with two outs or two strikes.

Another error scored Franklin as Tigers took a 2-0 lead at home.

In the bottom of the third, junior third baseman Bryce Effler reached on a single to start things off before moving to second on an error.

Effler went to third on a fielder’s choice to second base, and Loy scored him with another fielder’s choice to second.

Rounding out the scoring, Franklin reached second base on a dropped third strike with two outs before he advanced to third on a passed ball.

Senior center fielder Logan Johnson then knocked a two strike single to left field, making the score 4-0.

Shane Jackson took the loss on the mound for the Highlanders, while Loy earned the win for Pigeon Forge.

Loy went four innings on the bump, striking out six.

Franklin struck out six as well, but he gave up the only two hits of the game to Gatlinburg-Pittman.
