CLYDE — David Michael Caldwell, 55, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Memorial Mission Campus.

A life-long resident of Haywood County, he was a son of Barbara Jean Miller and the late Earl Hascue Caldwell. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Earl Caldwell. David was passionate about reading and enjoyed being around kids. He also enjoyed making jewelry for his family and friends. David never met a stranger. He loved art, board games, video games and dogs.
In addition to David’s mother, he is survived by three sisters, Sue Jalm, and her husband, Terry, of Jupiter, Florida, Cindy Nichols, and her husband, Therold and Jean Caldwell, all of Clyde; brother, Chuck Caldwell, and his wife, Christie, of King George, Virginia; three nieces, Kristin and Megan Jalm and Kristen Nichols; three nephews, Cameron and Chandler Caldwell and Michael Nichols; grand-nephew, Liam Nichols; and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. James Marsh officiating.
