SEVIERVILLE — A Sevier County grand jury advanced charges of voluntary manslaughter Monday against a 75-year-old Pigeon Forge man who allegedly shot a man last year during an altercation.

Pigeon Forge Police charged Bobby Rauhuff after he allegedly shot and killed a man who lived at the same address on Sugar Hollow Road last November.
He allegedly shot 33-year-old Jeremy Lowe after they got into an altercation at the house. Investigators have not said what caused the two to get into a fight.
The grand jury reviewed the charges against Rauhuff and returned an indictment, finding there was probable cause to send the charges to Circuit Court for trial.
The grand jury is a group of randomly selected citizens who review criminal charges to determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.
The panel does not determine guilt or innocence.
If it finds there is not enough evidence to send a case on for trial, it returns no true bill. If it finds there’s probable cause for a trial, it returns an indictment.
