Jo Corbin Obituary (1934 – 2022) – Marion, IN

Jo Ann Corbin, 87, Marion, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022. She was born in Mason County, Kentucky, on Wednesday, February 28, 1934, to Edwin and Pauline (Keal) Henson. On February 14, 1953, she married Earl Corbin, and they shared 56 years together before he preceded her in death on March 23, 2009.

Jo Ann graduated from Mayslick High School in 1952 as Valedictorian. She worked ten years with USDA Agricultural and Bell Fibre. She enjoyed gardening and canning the harvest with her husband, as well as traveling together to Hawaii; Branson, Missouri; Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; and family in Maysville, Kentucky. Jo Ann enjoyed quilting and needlepoint, crossword puzzles, making fabulous pies, but especially spending time with family.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Lynn (Dale) Sutor of Lisle, IL, and Raejean (Jason) Corbin Young of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Laura Ann Sutor, Lisa Nicole (Kunal) Savkur, and Brenna Young; great-granddaughters, Olivia Stebel, Leena Savkur, and Leila Savkur.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edwin Henson, Jr.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Jo Ann’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial taking place at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
