The move to invite new suppliers marks a slight change from previous operations at the event facility.
LeConte Center General Manager Phil Campbell said that Pigeon Forge’s Bullfish Grill/Bullfish Diverse Concepts has provided both indoor and outdoor food services since the facility opened in 2013.
Bullfish Grill will continue servicing the indoor dining area.
Starting in May, if Pigeon Forge commissioners approve the request for proposals, selected vendors would have a two-year contract to serve food outdoors during five annual events. Commissioners were scheduled to meet on Monday before press time.
A temporary contract with a Knoxville vendor will cover outdoor food at LeConte Center events happening before May, such as the March 19-20 Corvette Expo.
Campbell expects that vendors will operate out of tents in the parking lot, since there is limited room for food trucks.
In addition to the Corvette Expo, the five annual indoor/outdoor events at LeConte Center are two rod runs, a Jeep show and a Ford F-100 event.
The deadline to submit proposals is 10 a.m. on March 30.
Sealed proposals marked “Outdoor Festival Food Concessionaire” should be mailed to LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge, P.O. Box 1390, Pigeon Forge, TN 37868-1390 or dropped off at the center’s office at 135 Jake Thomas Road, Pigeon Forge.
