Tigers get best of Northview Academy | High School

PIGEON FORGE — Pigeon Forge’s bats took advantage of Northview Academy on Tuesday afternoon in the Tigers’ 11-1 run-rule win over the visiting Cougars.

Pigeon Forge, who improved to 17-1, scored five runs in the first inning, loading the bases after their first three hitters came up to bat.

Tyson McFall drove in Justin McClelland to make the score 2-0 before Carson Catlett roped a double to score Dylan Loy and Riley Franklin.

Capping off the inning, Catlett scored on a wild pitch.

The Tigers tacked on three more in the third and fourth frame. Northview Academy’s Kerim Durmaz drove in Johnny Webster in the top of the fourth for their only run of the game making the score 8-1.

Webster started on the mound for Northview Academy, but he lasted only two innings, giving up five hits, five runs and two walks.

Webster struck out three, while Matthew Curry gave up six hits and six earned runs in the third and fourth innings.

For Pigeon Forge, Tyson McFall pitched spectacular, going all five innings and allowing only two hits.

He struck out eight, and he also led the Tigers at the plate with four RBIs.

Webster and Durmaz recorded hits for Northview Academy, while McClelland and Franklin, who scored three run, both had two hits for the Tigers.
