Wild Eagle is a flying eagle themed steel rollercoaster located at Dollywood amusement park in Pigeon Forge, TN. The coaster was built by manufacturer B&M and opened to the public in 2012 as the nation’s first winged roller coaster. The roller coaster’s design makes use of the mountainous terrain of the Smoky Mountains as it reaches a height of 210 feet. It reaches speeds of up to 61 mph over it’s 3,127 feet of track. The roller coaster features 4 inversions including a vertical loop, a zero-g roll, an immelmann, and a corkscrew as well as several air-time hills. All of these elements, add to the sensation of smooth weightlessness and soaring as if the winged-seated trains weren’t enough. “There’s nothing above you and nothing below you. You can fly like an eagle” – Dolly Parton. The coaster has received several Golden Ticket Awards over the years including “Best New Ride” and “Top Steel Roller Coasters”.
