TENNESSEE, USA — Update (3:30 PM): The Southbound side of the Spur between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg has reopened after crews cleared a rockslide that occurred Friday morning near Norton Creek.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park’s road information Twitter account reported both lanes on the southbound side had reopened.
Smokies Road Info has confirmed via Twitter that a rockslide has been reported southbound Spur between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg near Norton Creek.
The incident was reported Friday morning.
Officials said the right lane is closed and they encourage drivers to slow down and use caution.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said National Park Service workers, TDOT workers, and troopers are helping with the traffic.
According to Sevier County Vice Mayor Bryan McCarter, the area is partially blocked.
The cleanup should take until mid to late afternoon, McCarter said. One lane will remain open most of the time with periodic two-lane closures while crews clean up the area.
